The Daily Caleb: 1/28/11

In which Caleb and Daddy build a snowman and make silly faces:

[I know, it's not the best looking snowman ever. I'm not sure if that's because of the kind of snow we have, or because I'm from Louisiana.]

Pa Dean's Plane

Before Great Grandpa Dean became famous for his exploits flying the F-51D Mustang in Korea, he flew the P-47D Thunderbolt in Europe during WWII. Here's Caleb with the Thunderbolt at the museum today (they didn't have a Mustang there):

"My hands don't work."

At least that's what Caleb told me tonight at the dinner table when he "needed" help to finish eating his dinner. Apparently this was caused by a tummy ache.

Funny, that tummy ache went away once I reminded him that he wouldn't get any cake unless he finished his dinner.

He still needed help, but his hands seemed to work just fine, as he grabbed my hand to get the food to his mouth faster.

Funny kid.

Caleb and Santa

I found this picture from last month, when Caleb and I went to breakfast at our church one Saturday morning, and we got to meet Santa Claus! I love the look on Caleb's face, and how he's holding Santa's hand to keep him from leaving our table:

The Daily Caleb: 12/7/10

In which Caleb reads Daddy a story and makes it up as he goes:

It goes like this:

"There was a boy named Callan [Caleb's friend who lives two doors down]. He played with Caleb and Zoë. He came to Caleb and Zoë's house and played with the alligator. He [the alligator] bite Caleb and Zoë. Then he [Callan] put the alligator in time out. The alligator bit my book."

"Then Callan went out the door outside and saw the bad wolves in the dark. He met a horse named Ringo. He fell off Ringo. Then his hat fell off. He put his hat back on. He opened the gate, then the bad wolves bite him and he ran away."

[I notice the second part sounds a lot like a part of Beauty and the Beast, Caleb's favorite movie, but that is the story he told me.]
